Jo Darvall celebrates being selected as a finalist in the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award.

Australia’s most prestigious, longest running print prize. Now in its 46th year, the FAC Print Award presents a diverse selection of prints and artist books from emerging, established and cross disciplinary artists, offering a true picture of the state of contemporary Australian printmaking.

Originally from Melbourne, Jo Darvall studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, receiving a BA in Fine Art in 1998. She established the Artists for Kids Culture Trust with fellow Roar Artists in the 1990s. Jo also worked with Master Printer Kim Westcott and had a studio at the Australian Print Workshop in Melbourne.

Featured are the load bearing marks and sensations found in her ethereal winged realm series. A tender homage to the living biodiversity of our forest ecosystems.
