Bec Juniper
Biography
Bec Juniper is a Perth based artist active for over 25 years, known for aerial landscape paintings of the Australian outback, rendered using mixed media, including materials found in nature.
Junipers work is profoundly shaped by the natural environment, particularly the landscapes of Western Australia. As the daughter of the esteemed artist Robert Juniper, Bec finds herself in a lineage of significant artistic contribution to Australian art. A distinctive style that often incorporates aerial perspectives and a rich palette to capture the essence and vastness of the Australian outback.
Juniper frequently explores themes of nature, geography, and the emotional resonance of landscapes. Each painting is both intuitive and grounded in a deep sense of place, reflecting a contemporary interpretation of the landscape genre. They are characterized by textured surfaces, layered colours, and the dynamic interplay between abstract and representational elements.
