Group Exhibition
Sparks
8 February – 4 March 2020
Opening: Saturday, 8 February, 5 – 7 pm
Fox Galleries celebrates its 5th year of exhibitions with group show Sparks; a collection of new and recent works by our represented artists, celebrating spaces ‘the mind can’t usually go’.
It began with one and then it started, sparks of the imagination exhibition features artists already exhibited as well as artists new to the gallery.
In Sparks we see the fearful, the desperate, the complacent and the comical. Eddie Botha reveals to us our many faces, Tim Clarkson’s uncountable folds in ceramic form appear weightless, Rowley Drysdale’s teardrop trio offer us a talisman, Mark Dustin reveals the haze of nostalgia. Peter Thomas is in dalliance with earth, smoke, water and fire as well as painter Esther Erlich who emboldens us with the flick of her paint brush.
The exhibition revels in challenging and electrifying the viewer; the circuit of sparks extend to the work of Wayne Fogden, Stephen Glassborow, Mark Davis, Jason Moad, Victor Rubin, Bart Sanciolo, Mark Schaller, Tyra Hutchens, Odelle Morshuis and the bold axillaries of Nigel Sense.
Gallery, artist and viewer alike come to see the irresistible force paradox, the quiet vibrations of the studio meets the immovable gallery walls. Fox Galleries is proud to present a verbose collection of ideas in this curated exhibition of all that is needed, Sparks.
